Audacious Handle Collection Arrives in Australia
Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) January 28, 2009 -- The door handles (http://www.4040.com.au/Hardware/Door-Handles-_-Pulls/) collection, which has been sourced from steel and wood craftsmen and artisans from around the world over a number of years, begins with 100 diverse handles that both inspire and raise eyebrows.
'This is nothing' taunts the collections importer Shane Harriden, 'I've seen another 300 I want to bring in!'
The most imposing handle of all is the 2 metre tall Double Edged Sword. Weighing in at a whopping 15kg, the door pulls are stainless steel with orange carbon compound insets and are topped with a turned oak wood handle and medieval style sword blades.
Why door handles? 'Door hardware is typically boring, but it doesn't have to be' claims Shane, 'some of the most elegant and priceless art in history wasn't hung in a gallery - it adorned a home. Architects and decorators are always searching for that certain look and feel, and I think we've found it.'
Other handles on display include cultural door handles from India, Europe and the Middle East. Rustic and antique stylings round out the range, and for the refined there are English prestige door handles fit for the King's palace or Queen s stately coach. Modern chrome handles (http://www.4040.com.au/Hardware/Door-Handles-_-Pulls/Modern-Chrome/) with classic timeless lines have also been included and testify to the beauty of the simple side of design.
The current collection can be viewed online at www.4040.com.au and will be extended further later in the year.
